Forget the ’90s The Biggest Beauty Trends Right Now Are All From an Older Decade

Stars love a throwback beauty moment, and right now it’s time for the ‘60s to shine. Bouffants, doe-eyed lashes, cat-eyes, and hair bows inspired by some of the decade’s biggest beauty icons like Brigitte Bardot, Twiggy, and Sophia Loren have flooded the red carpet and trickled into our own hair and makeup looks.
Thanks to sweet, uncomplicated and soft feminine vibe of these retro makeup and hairstyles, the ‘60s are still swinging in 2020. And that’s exactly why these classic looks are some of spring’s biggest beauty trends.
Ahead, Hollywood’s top hair and makeup artists break down how to recreate the decade’s most beloved beauty looks.
Brigitte Bardot’s signature heap of tousled tendrils with the sides pinned back set the bar for bombshell hair. To give Shailene Woodley a similar vibe, hairstylist Keith Carpenter misted volumizer and dry shampoo through her hair to make it lush and then teased her crown.

Mod icon Twiggy opened our eyes to the doe-like power of graphic false lashes applied on top and bottom lids. Makeup artist Jo Baker mimicked the effect by drawing slashes of black liner under Lucy Boynton’s eyes with a brush.
