Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving, also known as Thanksgiving Day, is a special occasion for Americans to express gratitude and appreciation for the good things in life. Celebrated on the last Thursday of November, this holiday originated in the 17th century when the Pilgrims, who had migrated from England, held a feast to thank the native people for their help in surviving their first winter in the Americas.
Today, Thanksgiving is not only an opportunity for families to gather together, but also an occasion to enjoy traditional dishes such as turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. In addition to eating, many people also spend time doing charity work, helping the less fortunate in the community. Thanksgiving is not just a holiday but also a time to reflect and appreciate the important values and relationships in life.
