I love a cultural relic, whether it be the Wil Fry Ian Connor suit that we’ve had a couple times or some Been Trill. Stuff from that SoundCloud-era, late blog-era, Melrose-era stuff is very undervalued for how much cultural provenance it has to kids who are outside and who are now old enough to afford it. I’m always looking for that stuff because (a) it gets a ton of engagement for me. But (b) it’s fun to talk about because I was there, and I was in my mid-20s already, so for these kids who are 12, 13 looking up to it, I can explain the context around it. That stuff’s really exciting for me to get, and it’s just funny to be like, “Oh shit, look, I forgot about this.” For myself, I don’t know. I’ve been buying and selling clothes full-time for over ten years now, and I think being jaded is almost an advantage, because it’s like you’re able to pick and choose what should actually go in the store. Because if I took home every single thing I thought was cool or I wanted, it wouldn’t be anything in the store, and I would be dressed insane. It’s good to lean into my age, lean into my experience with this…. It’s just clothes.

It’s like “I want a cream-colored track jacket that fits well.” I don’t really care what brand it is.Post-brand. On my mind for a minute now is a pink pajama shirt, either from Tekla or just something vintage. I’ve been hunting.Obviously, if there is a sick Louis Vuitton or Balenciaga one that comes in that fits right and doesn’t have a crazy branding, I’m going to choose that one, but I love a Celine track jacket. I love a vintage Nike track jacket. It really just depends on the fit and if it matches what I have in my head. Does it look good on me? Because you spend so much of your time putting outfits together in your head, and then you get home and you’re like, “This looks like shit on me.” And then that’s the most disappointing thing. So it’s really just trying to find things that I can build my wardrobe around that look good on me first and foremost, and then I can do the fits after.
