Adding on to the recording part: depending on if you’re a one-party consent state (or country if not the US), then you can record on your phone without even telling them you’re recording. It is also worth noting that even if they are in a one-party consent state, assuming they’re in an at-will employment state, the recording could still be cause for dismissal, even if not criminally illegal.
