Morristown was the nation’s first National Historical park when it was founded in 1933. The park encompasses four sites that were important during the American Revolutionary War, including Fort Nonsense and the Ford Mansion. During the war, George Washington and the Continental Army spent the winter of 1780 in Morristown, which remains the coldest winter on record for New Jersey.
