The occasion will feature in a documentary by a US-based filmmaker about his career.Sporting a grey goatee, Ndamase laughs off the many other designers who claim to have pioneered the Madiba shirt or sell versions resembling his own, which today cost around 1,800 rand ($90) apiece. Once described by the late Winnie Mandela as “part of the furniture,” he says he never wanted to use the Mandela name for commercial purposes. “I dressed one generation to another,” he said. “The relationship I had was a family relationship.”Born in the Mdantsane township on the southeastern coast, Ndamase still spends time behind the sewing machine in his Johannesburg workshop. “It’s a dream come true,” he said, squinting at the shirt he is working on. “It’s a legacy collection,” he said, pointing to a T-shirt from the new range that is emblazoned “BE THE LEGACY” and features a famous silhouette of Nelson and Winnie Mandela walking free in 1990 (AFP).

These products are typically a size small vs US sizing. I’m 6’4”/225 and usually wear an XL. I buy 2XL in these and is perfect.
Material weight and fabrication is good quality. Would buy more.

Some of the reviews complain these aren’t heavy like advertised, and I agree they aren’t particularly heavy. I’d say they’re average weight. But they are exactly what I was looking for and I am very pleased. I purchased the maroon. I’d say they run a tad small. I’m a 150lb women and was looking for a loose fit and had trouble deciding between ordering the medium or large. I went with the large and I’m glad I did. I want to order more colors. I only wish I could order a single one or that they had more varied color combinations.

Absolutely love this shirt! Great quality, doesn’t shrink into a square (short and wide at the stomach) retains shape, and a beautiful design. High quality. Bought both colors, purple for my sons and black for myself. All 3 were same great quality.

The thing I love about these t-shirts is the neck. They fit nicely around my neck, I have bought many t-shirts that are to low and sort of droopy these shirts have a nice look and hold their shape after many washing. Will definitely be buying more from kingteeshops

I LOVE sarcastic shirts, and this was the perfect one to add to my collection. The one’s that get it laugh and the one’s that don’t well, I don’t have any crayons. This shirt runs true to size. I bought a size bigger thinking it would shrink when I washed it but it didn’t
