GmbH has made its runway debut in its home city of Berlin, where it presented its latest collection, titled ‘Resistance through Rituals’ to kick off Berlin Fashion Week. After previously showing in Milan and Paris, the concept centered around the resurgence of fascism and its societal implications, GmbH said in a statement.The show took place on the terrace of Berlin event space Tempodrom, where the duo behind the brand, Benjamin Alexander Huseby and Serhat Isik, invited friends and models to showcase looks on the runway. The occasion was part of agency Reference Studio’s ‘Intervention Showcase’ programme.Boxer-style jackets met patchwork tops, skimpy briefs and long, asymmetrical dresses: each reflecting symbols of resilience and resistance. A collaboration with Swedish footwear and fashion label Axel Arigato resulted in a sneaker collection of shiny silver, combining chain elements with plated metal. The statement against oppression and injustice was mirrored in the powerful aesthetics of the looks, which were dominated by a colour palette of grey, black and denim.

London-based Self-portrait has entered the jewellery category with the launch of a debut collection incorporating the brand’s signature style into a new medium.Among the line is a nod to the brand’s staple Bow Bag collection, which has been translated into jewellery through the incorporation of the signature bow motif that can now be seen on statement earrings, gold bangles and crystal brooches made with 18k plated gold and 18k white plated gold.Other pieces include heart motif earrings and gold pearl droplets, each again mirroring the brand’s already established aesthetic while designed to be versatile for customers.It is this element that Self-portrait’s founder and creative director, Han Chong emphasised in his statement referencing the launch.In a release, Chong said: “By introducing jewellery we have diversified our product categories to give our customers the complete lifestyle experience.“I wanted to create pieces that not only complement our clothing, but can also stand alone as unique statements.
