Charity retailer Oxfam is partnering with pre-loved fashion marketplace Vinted for its catwalk showcase during London Fashion Week, as part of its sixth annual ‘Second Hand September’ campaign. The ‘Style for Change’ show will take place on September 12, opening London Fashion Week with a catwalk show featuring all pre-loved clothing styled by Bay Garnett, which will then be available to purchase on Vinted through Oxfam’s online wardrobe shop.Kehinde Brown, strategic communications lead at Oxfam, who is directing the show, said in a statement: “Oxfam are thrilled to have Vinted as our partner for our Style for Change fashion show, as part of our Second Hand September campaign this year. Vinted has captured the mainstream and championed pre-loved fashion like no other online marketplace has, so we can’t think of anyone better to be partnering with to help prove that second-hand does not mean second best and that by embracing pre-loved clothing, individuals can express their personal style while contributing to a larger cause.”Oxfam launched ‘Second Hand September’ in 2019 to inspire people to shop in a way “that is kinder to people and the planet” and to encourage people to donate and buy second-hand items.

I needed some new tee shirts so I thought I’d give this brand a try. I didn’t have very high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I bought these as my primary work shirts. Where my other ones you can get the big box dept store (or anywhere really) wore holes in them pretty fast, these have stood up to the wear and tear of ‘work’ work, ‘home’ work, and the washings and dryings in between. I don’t wear anything else to work in. Haven’t since I got them late Nov of last year. There is one caveat : I sweat a lot and these do not help there. I chose black simply because it helps to hide it while on the job, but they are thicker than the usual t-shirt and will add to the seat factor. I bought 4 sets; They’re all I wear. Except when I go out. An added bonus is that the black hides the grease stains that inevitably are left on any clothing when working on a vehicle. I’ve made 2 pairs of good jeans into work-around-the-house jeans, but nothing at all can be seen on these (black) shirts.

Well made, looks good as plain white t-shirt, excellently priced.
Nothing fancy, but a well made, inexpensive comfortable, mid to heavy weight plain white t-shirt. Floridians and those in warm climates might find it uncomfortable to wear as an undershirt– but perfect as a regular going around outside t-shirt year round. Heavier (and should be longer lasting) than a simple haines or jockey white thin undershirt. The white is very white, I am ordering grey today. I would buy these at double the price on Amazon.
