You are so right; Golden’s are the best dogs; they just want to please But they shed like crazy. My Golden, Quincy passed away in April & he left such a void in my life. Yeah, they shed but I feel like it only looks like more because the fur is so long and light colored. My in-laws have a short-haired Jack Russell who sheds twice as much as my golden. When you are ready to get another dog look for Golden Retriever Rescue groups and you will be honoring the dog you loved and making another dog happy.

I tried that. They required fenced yards and had a very long waiting list. We’ve raised 12 dogs without a fenced yard (not all at the same time). We live on 11 acres. Fences are not needed in all situations. They are great dogs hands down. My real concern, everyone I know that has had this breed has lost them prematurely due to serious hip & joint issues.
