You are most likely not the 16% who are starving or malnourished, and if you are underweight, it’s likely by choice. You are most likely in the 87% who have access to clean water. We should look at the 80%, 90%, or 99% of those who have less than us. And while we should have some sympathy for those who are less privileged through no fault of their own, we should not feel guilty for our own privileges. If You Can Read This Please Back The Fuck Up Shirt! While charity and voluntarism is great, you do not have any obligation to give what you have to those who have less. Nor do you have the moral authority to make someone else give what they have to those who have less. However, we DO have the moral obligation to not get in the way of someone trying to get more through their own merits. Reflect on what you have, and be grateful, no matter how much or how little you have. There will always be those who have more than you, but there are many more who have less.
