So the final day of our 12 day Botswana Road-Trip has come and soon to head back home to SA. A trip I’ve dreamed of and glad to have done with my best mate. Neither Elephant Nor Donkey I Am Giraffe Shirt! It’s had its ups and downs and will be remembered for many things another beautiful African country visited and whilst we realised early on that neither our beloved Roxsam or our expertise were capable of the 4×4 driving needs of Botswana – a very fortunate incident of getting stuck and dug out not once but twice in the Khama Rhino Sanctuary on Day 2 meant our very adventurous future travels across the sand dunes of Botswana needed to be quickly reassessed.

So the days of cattle, goats, donkeys, tar roads, heat and lots of mosquitos (one of my lifelong memories will be scouting our tent for mosquitos through the overwhelming odour of Doom every night) were broken up with nights spent in some stunning campsites and some not so stunning campsites and the Neither Elephant Nor Donkey I Am Giraffe Shirt. Finally arriving in the Chobe region and blessed at Free and wild elephants roaming an amazing Game Drive in Chobe National Park brought sightings of leopard and an incredible pride of lions with cubs playing happily, not to mention giraffe, kudu and so many other beautiful animals.

The best Riverboat trip and incredible sunset with elephants and hippos is a memory I will hold forever. Neither Elephant Nor Donkey I Am Giraffe Shirt! Then a trip across the border to Zimbabwe to see one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World – Victoria Falls – and Baboons one of the most breathtaking sights to see Wow!
