I grew up with a man who stood strong on his own, and I saw healthy relationships from other people; grandparents, my friends’ parents, other family members. I’m now in a healthy, loving marriage.On the flip side, I have seen in my friends’ lives and in the lives of students, when a parent is single and dating, if they don’t commit and settle down, and they just keep bringing new people into the house, the child never finds trust in the new adult, they only see them as temporary. It would be great if every single parent remarried while the child is young, and actually stayed committed to them, but I’ve just seen how the parent dating can be really painful to the child.
