Canada Goose’s ongoing sale of fur products in 2024 has only fueled consumer confusion, especially following its recent collaboration with Fonda. Following the PBI collaboration announcement in May, thousands of consumers voiced their disappointment in her working on the brand, with many highlighting not just the cruelty linked to wild fur trapping but also down production. Down is made from soft feathers from ducks and geese, which are either controversially live-plucked or harvested after the birds are slaughtered for meat. The feathers are then cleaned, sterilized, and graded for quality. With many brands sourcing down from live birds, ethical concerns regarding live-plucking have led to an increasing demand for more humane practices and down alternatives.In response to the treatment of the birds used for down, Canada Goose holds a Responsible Down Standard certification, which ensures no force-feeding or live-plucking of birds for their feathers. However, outside of holding this certification, the brand’s website seems to lack a comprehensive animal cruelty policy. The brand is actively taking steps towards using more sustainable materials. For example in 2019, Canada Goose committed to sourcing more Preferred fibers and materials as defined by the Textile Exchange and currently over 50 percent of its products are made with PFMs. However, as the brand still uses animal derived materials such as down this raises concerns about animal welfare, even with the certification.

Finally one that has real length sleeves and body. I normally wear a large in real men’s sizes, but many times have to get an XL in those metro or unisex sizes. I’m 6’3″ and 44 inch chest, 200lbs and the large goes a good 6-8 inches below my waist, has plenty (but not excessive) room in the shoulders and the sleeves don’t look like I’m wearing too small a size. My new favorite shirt.

This shirt is very comfortable, light, and moisture wicking as advertised. It also fits as expected — sometimes. I bought five of these in all different colors. They all arrived in the same box but individually sealed in plastic. The ones that fit as expected were labeled medium and are made in Jordan. The plastic they were wrapped in had the under armour logo on it. The ones that didn’t look to have been resealed in unmarked plastic and while they too are labeled medium they say they are made in Mexico. The shirts labeled as from Mexico are a good 1-2 inches shorter in length and seem to be more fitted in cut than the Jordan shirts, which have a nice loose cut without being sloppy. The seller should really advertise this difference on each shirt color as it applies since there seems to be two very different fits with no distinction in the name. Would have given a five star review if not for this issue and will not purchase again until fit is less of a crapshoot.
