Im wondering if you can help me offline as I am working with that young stage of “adolescent -social media- hatred”… the total lack of thinking and feeling for others. As a child psych nurse, I ponder whether high-functioning autistics appear to lose empathy just b/c they are online so much. Please do not judge me, I just think differently.I don’t think judgment belongs in authentic curiosity and learning. I understand the neurodynamics and brain-based etiology. My question had to do more to methods of engaging the preadolescent brain and teaching- I believe there is a difference between cognitive empathy and true emotional empathy. I struggle finding alternative methods to directly “teach” at this precious preteen timeframe. Thanks all for responding.
