No I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth. I got very sick the day after Halloween. I actually wasn’t feeling great before that, not much energy. Sunday and Monday I could hardly get out of bed so by Tuesday Philip and Erin decided to take me to the hospital where I spent 2 weeks. During that time I was poked with all kinds of needles, blood drawn every 4 hours.

Some of the phlebotomist’s were very good, some not so good. At some point they started bringing the x-ray machine to me instead of wheeling me down stairs to the cold basement. Phlebotomist’s Prayer lord guide my hands and my heart as I care for my patients to day shirt! Potassium IV drip and a couple others I can’t remember. Two MRI,s over that time period oh and don’t forget the fun catheter the first week, it was a joy to get rid of that thing! After the first week, I started physical therapy. It was actually grueling trying to walk again with a walker but I actually thank my physical therapist for making me go a little further each day until I was doing a lap around the nurses station, down to the end of the hall and back again to my room.

And she always made me laugh, they say laughing is good medicine. and of course the nurses were wonderful. I always stuck with cereal and fruit for breakfast. Can’t go wrong with that. One day I veered and had egg toast and hash browns. The egg was like trying to eat a rubber chicken and the hash browns were like goo! The orange slices and toast weren’t too bad, but I couldn’t have butter, jam or salt, who ever heard of toast without butter and jam.
