Jackson and Boston Earl are the 22- and 20-year-old founders of Goose It, a lacrosse lifestyle apparel brand they started when they were at the height of their playing days in Syracuse, Utah, a suburb about 35 minutes north of Salt Lake City. Growing up as hockey players, they first encountered the game in elementary school when they attended a cousin’s tournament in Park City. “We watched a couple of his games and we were like, ‘This is awesome,’” Jackson says. “There was a vendor tent setup selling gear, so we wandered over there and we each bought a stick. It was like a $30 STX Amp, I think I’ve still got it. And we just fell in love with it from there.”

First maybe in the hinterlands like Duxbury, Mass., and Hempfield, Pa., then in places like Hudson, Ohio, and Salem, Va., then in maybe Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Oceanside, Calif.And while it may seem to some like Syracuse, Utah, closes the loop on the farthest reaches the sport has to spread throughout the United States (can’t help but note the irony of that Salt Lake bordertown sharing a name with the sport’s centuries-old cradle), the Earls created Goose It and hit the road because they know exactly how much farther the sport can go — and they want to be a part of that journey.“My style is pretty simple. I’m very minimal on things. If I don’t need something, I don’t keep it. I pretty much wear the same thing every day,” Jackson says. “I wear black all day. I have literally seven or eight of the same T-shirt and I just rock all of them.”If that doesn’t sound like the outlook of a clothing designer, it should come as no surprise that Boston leads the creative design elements.
