In that kind of scam they would take the clothes to a flea market —sell it for maybe 25 cents or less on the dollar to a vendor. They probably didn’t make much money at all given how much they took. They split it three ways. In addition 25 plus years later I am bet they all have larceny on their criminal record which would disqualify them from much of the job market.
