The Fashion News You Missed This Week

Model-turned-agent-turned-author is Kate Moss’ most recent slash title. The super has teamed up with Jorge Yarur, the founder of Museo de la Moda in Chile, on a new book called Musings on Fashion and Style: Museo de la Moda. The Museo de la Moda is home to pieces by some of the world’s top designers and outfits worn by celebrities including Marilyn Monroe and John Lennon. The book chronicles trends throughout the years with images from the museum, as well as shots of Kate wearing items that fit into her personal aesthetic. It will go on sale through Rizzoli from October 15.
American jewellery brand David Yurman has opened a new boutique in Holt Renfrew, Toronto, and it’s a beauty. The 1,649 square-foot store is home to all of the brand’s categories, including women’s, men’s and bridal. The space is accented with sculptures and paintings by David and Sybil Yurman, and also includes an area that shows the pair’s transition from art into the world of fine jewellery. Carol Pennelli, the brand’s president, said of the store: “We wanted to create a space where clients can immerse themselves in the rich history of the brand and discover pieces that are true expressions of themselves.”
Jennifer Lopez is at it again. After it was revealed last week that she is the reason we have Google Images, JLo has set the internet on fire for the second time following her turn down the runway at Versace’s SS20 show during Milan Fashion Week. Wearing a new iteration of the famous plunging green gown she wore to the 2000 Grammy Awards, the singer created a huge buzz as she closed the brand’s show – and according to Like To Know It, searches for green dresses spiked by 1,200 per cent this week as a result.
At the Maison Margiela show in Paris this week, model Leon Dame walked the runway for the brand and certainly made his mark whilst doing so. Dame stomped down the catwalk in a very distinctive manner, and as it turns out, the moment was planned with a famed choreographer “I already had something on my mind, but I worked it out during the rehearsals with Pat Boguslawski the night before the show,” Dame told Vogue. Considering it will go down in fashion week history, we think the rehearsal certainly paid off.
