If the police departments don’t start charging these individuals more with false police reports, it will only get worse. I applaud those officers who don’t overreact in these situations and who do address the false reporter directly, for those who do act harshly you are no better than the jokers who make the false reports. I say this because I personally know some wonderful officers who do their jobs respectfully and with integrity for all citizens, but like with any profession.
