This was a trailer park of about 15 trailers on top of a hill. The children had to walk down the hill to catch the school bus. They also had to change from Jayenne School to State Street. State Street school was an old school with their playground built on concrete not dirt. The school also did not have any auditorium, nor gymnasium. The lunchroom served as both places. The children went to that school for 4 years. And I had a child in almost every grade. Every time at the PTA meetings, when they’d ask a parent to stand up for that grade, we had to stand up. The school went from K to 8th.
